#2- Drink our own Homebrewed Beer

June 19th was a special day for our family.  We celebrated the marriage of Jeffs brother, Chris, and his now husband, Jason.  Chris and Jason have been together for a very long time and were married in every sense of the word, except legally.  Once DC legalized gay marriage they decided to make it official.  They wed at the courthouse in April and planned their dinner reception for June 19th.  We had all been looking all been looking forward to Saturday to formally celebrate such a wonderful couple, and it was a joy to be a part of.  We couldnt be happier for them!

Some pictures from that night:

After dinner everyone headed back to their house for cake and cocktails.  We picked that night to cross #2 off of our Day Zero list- Drink our own homebrewed beer.  Now, we started brewing the beer about 5 weeks ago, but I figure we can still count the end result off of our list since it was a bit of an experiment.  We ventured off the beaten path with this one.. we took a Wheat Beer kit and pureed our own blackberries to add to the mix.  It turned out GREAT!  I am a big fan of wheat beers to begin with and our batch was delicious J  Well definitely be doing that again.

  1. you need to STOP crossing things off your list - you're putting me to shame! haha! just kidding ... i love the pictures, dominic is like 'give me that beer mom!' ;) and congrats to Chris and Jason :)
